If you’d like to temporarily transform your curly or wavy tresses into straight, sleek hair, a straightening iron can give you the smooth look you are after.

    How do Straightening Irons Work?

When hair is heated and tension is applied, some of the bonds in the hair are disrupted. The result: temporarily straight hair. Wetting your hair will reverse the effect. In humid weather your hair absorbs moisture from the air and your straightened hair will not remain that way for as long as it would on drier days.

In some cultures, hair was considered to be magical. Hair could mean the difference between life and death, or freedom and slavery.

Some people believed that hair contained strength. Cutting the hair was frowned upon and discouraged. An example is demonstrated with the biblical character Samson. He was very powerful, but lost all his strength once his hair was cut.

In Germany, long-hair was a sign of freedom and wealth. As a result, the heads of convicts and slaves were shaven. The sight of a shaved head let everyone know the person was a member of lower society.

From a swim to the gym, there are plenty of opportunities in your local area to meet new people. Some further ideas on making new and healthy connections can be found at the bottom of the page, but meanwhile let’s start at the local…

Swimming pool, that is. You’ll notice I didn’t just say swimming, as there’s a lot more going on there apart from the executive type who does twenty lengths in the time it takes me to do one. Aqua aerobics is also great fun if you want to join a regular group – think of it as a buoyant gymnasium. Any regular activity also means you’ll benefit more physically, mentally and socially – can’t be bad for starters.

Ginseng has been in use as a dietary supplement for up to 7,000 years. It has proven to be effective for a number of different purposes: to stimulate the immune system, treat male impotence, improve memory, enhance athletic performance, strengthen the adrenal glands, improve the circulation of blood, ease withdrawal from cocaine, aid recovery from stress, protect against the dangers of radiation exposure and increase longevity.

Throughout Asia it has been used for centuries to combat weakness and provide the body with extra energy. Native American Indians considered Ginseng to be one of their most sacred herbs. They used it to treat stomach and bronchial disorders as well as asthma. The Indians also used Ginseng as an added ingredient in other herbal remedies in order to gain a more potent effect from them.

Clomid releases the hormones required for ovulation. Generally, it is applied in treatment of female infertility. Clomid provides an ovulation, in the cases when female ovaries produce a follicle under hormonal stimulation deficiency conditions. Navigating through the Internet, you have the possibility to find Clomid without a prescription at online pharmacies.

Clomid affects the estrogen receptors in the hypophysis cerebri and ovaries. Taking Clomid provides binding the estrogen receptors to the hypophysis cerebri. While you on Clomid, follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone are developing and affecting the estrogens in the pituitary gland. However, Clomid is proved not to affect the estrogen level in blood.

Clomid is an effective antagonist inhibiting the estrogen receptors. Clomid helps the estrogen receptors in the pituitary gland to be bound selectively, and decreases the inhibition of the pituitary gland and hypothalamus, providing faster restoration of their functions.

A recent study by the University of Michigan Health System is beginning to prove what many mother’s have known all along. A glass of ginger ale or ginger tea does relieve nausea and stomach aches.

According to Suzanna Zick, N.D., MPH, research investigator in the study, “ginger does appear to have several medicinal qualities.” She also states that ginger can be used to warm the body and relieve some types of arthritis. This new study was funded to discover if ginger could be used in the treating of nausea caused by chemotherapy. The study is still ongoing and no conclusions have been reached.

The main component ingredient of ginger is gingerol, which is a strong antioxidant. By its nature, it works to reduce oxidants in the stomach by free. Another benefit is that it blocks serotonin receptors not allowing serotonin to enter causing more nausea.

The Dead Sea is aptly named. Its enormously high concentration of sea salt makes its completely hostile to typical marine life. There are no fish, no plants, and no life forms at all. The deeper parts of The Dead Sea are over ten times saltier than ocean water. Underwater, and around the shores, are absolutely piled with salt. But this isn’t the ordinary salt you find on your grocer’s shelves. Table salt, pure sodium chloride, is very drying to the skin (and can actually be harmful to people with certain medical conditions), but the salts from the Dead Sea are actually mineral salts. These salts contain bromides, calcium, magnesium, and potassium…and a substantially lower percentage of sodium chloride. Continue reading »

“Give me some hair, long beautiful hair.” It’s an excerpt from the rock musical Hair. It was rooted in a time when both men and women wanted and often had long and beautiful hair. The Pop at the Mom and Pop store would give anything to have his hair back, the way it was when he was only twenty. So would his dentist. So would the dentist’s wife. All over the world people are turning to hairpieces, hair extensions, hair implants to cover bald spots and look younger and sexier. They also turn to hair-growth pills, creams, and lotions. Many companies grew even richer producing all these products.

Other people are just as busy trying to remove hair from their upper lip, their chests, their arms, their legs, their back, their ears, and even their bikini line. They resort to creams, laser removal, shaving, waxing, and other treatments. Many companies also grew richer by selling expensive hair removal products and procedures. Whole salons are devoted to removing unwanted hair.

Anyone who has been paying attention to the financial news lately knows that skyrocketing health care costs for current employees and retirees is threatening to bankrupt some of our biggest companies. From the problems at GM and Ford to the issues facing the major airlines, health care burdens are quickly becoming unsustainable, and many companies are taking proactive steps to head off a looming crisis for their own industries.

One innovative approach some employers are using is an attempt to increase the healthfulness of their workforce through the use of onsite health clinics. Perhaps the most famous employer to try this approach has been Wal-Mart, and if the Wal-Mart plan for in store employee health clinics succeeds it is a good bet that other large employers will follow suit.
